The FIFA series is without a doubt the most popular among football (soccer) video game titles, and has been for many years. This version, FIFA 08, is presented with a new dynamic game mode that is called “Threat Map”. What’s more, there is also a new shooting system that gives you greater control and precision when you go to make a goal. The 2008 edition includes more than 15,000 players and 30 different leagues containing no less than 620 teams.
The shooting system in FIFA 08 is pretty impressive, really. It is designed to make calculations based on all the available parameters, including the position of the ball, the air pressure, and the position of the other team’s defense, so that you can get a more realistic firsthand experience of shooting and trying to score a goal.
In FIFA 08, the overarching mission is to turn you into a professional soccer player. This means you have to put in the effort; if you don’t show up to your training sessions or exercise correctly, you won’t be chosen to play when game day arrives.
It is worth noting that significant improvements in graphics were made between FIFA 08 and FIFA 09, so if the image feels too flat or false to you in this version, you might like the next version better.
